My first phone call was prompted by a tooth abscess, which meant that I would lose a tooth. I am in my late forties and since my twenties had experienced a great deal of dentistry, crowns, bridges, fillings and had lost several teeth. My job as a beautician and complementary therapist meant that I always want to look as good as possible. I felt that the next step was removable false teeth and I was terrified.

Looking at several different advertisements in the yellow pages I telephoned two, the first one wanted money up front before they would even look at me, but when I telephoned Aquae Sulis they were so reassuring that I would be able to do something about my poor dentistry and also offered a free initial consultation to discuss the options.

I was quite nervous when I arrived, but I needn’t have worried, everyone was so welcoming, and Ian Bellamy explained all the different options, and there were several when I thought there were none. At no time did I feel pressurised to have anything done, but I can honestly say that right from my first visit I knew that I had come to the right place.

I spent some time discussing with my husband and children the different options. The cost had to be taken into consideration as it would mean that there would be no holidays for a while, no much needed new kitchen and limited funds in helping our four children with their studies. Everyone felt that none of that mattered if it meant that I would feel so much better about myself.

I had been so nervous of visits to the dentist in the past that I had to take something to calm me down. I never experienced this with any of my many visits to Aquae Sulis. Over the past year I have had implants, crowns and veneers and have never suffered any discomfort, in fact I look forward to relaxing for an hour or two and have even visited with the onset of a migraine which had completely cleared by the time I left. If it wasn’t for the fact I had to keep my mouth open I would have slept through every treatment.

Since my treatment finished I feel I have found myself again, I no longer put my hand over my mouth when I speak, or hide from the camera. I smile all the time, people tell me how good I look especially men and it gives me a real ‘buzz’. I can honestly say that I have never been happier about my appearance I just wish I had known about the Aquae Sulis practice a long time ago.

The professional, caring attitude that I have received from every member of the team, confirms that my first impression was correct. Thank you for giving me back my smile and my confidence.

Ian was a great support during those long months, so much so that I looked forward to my visit, having chats, listening to a varied musical selection, sometimes of my choice and ever confident in the knowledge that I was in exceptional hands, being treated by a perfectionist who would only be satisfied with the finest results, which indeed was the case.

During this time the surgery staff could not have been more caring and accommodating.

Ian is a credit to his profession; I can not recommend he and his team highly enough.

I am now the proud owner of three implants and I cannot believe the difference it has made to my smile. Gone are the days of trying to hide my teeth and now I can smile with confidence. The dental treatment I have received has been superb and I would sincerely like to thank everyone at Aquae Sulis.

Once again I can eat anything on the menu!

Throughout my extensive treatment Ian Bellamy and his team have been marvellous and my discomfort was kept to an absolute minimum.

The results are wonderful. No amount of visits to the hairdresser or beauty salon could have made this much difference to my appearance. As promised I now have the confidence of a smile.

I am more than pleased with the results I am delighted. The care with which the work was undertaken, the expertise and enthusiasm of the whole team from the dentist to the nurse, to the receptionist was first class. Again I thank them.

After a very informative first meeting, where I left inspired by the number of choices I had, we started treatment. This involved placing implants in my jaw under local anesthesia. I was so surprised that apart from some discomfort during healing there was no real pain.

I now have what I think is a great smile and this has given me the confidence to feel a better person. All thanks to a great team who were always friendly and put me at ease. Thank you.

Before attending Ian’s practice, I used to dread dental appointments. However, Ian inspires such confidence that, following initial corrective treatment, I found myself looking forward to my visits and sufficiently at ease to opt to have all my metal fillings replaced with white ones.
